The BTN is a local non-profit that currently operates two charter schools, Independence Local #1 and ConneXions School for the Arts. The BTN focuses on balancing the work of teacher and student with engaging in the political/organizational context that governs this relationship. To that end, we have offered professional development sessions, published a periodical, and supported city-wide mentoring programs, and currently sponsoring Independence Local #1 and ConneXions. Part of the BTN’s current growth is the establishment of the BTN website as a format for educating and networking teachers and their friends.
